Re: New Bio-Diesel

Lots of farmers grow and make their own biodiesel. As long as it's done right, the engines burn it w/o issues. The only problem I am aware of is biodiesel in mixes above 50%, acts like a solvent. If your tanks have a lot of sludge, the biodiesel breaks it down quickly and the debris can plug the filters. A few years ago, BC Ferries tried to run 100% biodiesel and went through a lot of filters, eventually going to a mix of less than 50% biodiesel. If your tanks are clean, it's not a problem.

Re: New Bio-Diesel

Diesel of any sort is a long-chain hydrocarbon. It's difficult to envision that dissolving polyester or epoxy resin. It sounds like there are some shorter molecules in there that break up sludge, but even gasoline does pretty well in fiberglass.
