Re: Oil leak around filter

Something else to consider as well....

Just above the oil filter location you will find the alarm switch for low oil pressure screwed into the engine block. ( readily seen on page 17 of the attached owners manual) From time to time these senders can fail and cause an oil leak, which will then run down past the filter and make it look as though the filter is leaking.

As someone has mentioned, get a can of spray on foot powder and give the area around the filter a good dusting with the powder. The leak will show up in the powder.
