Outboard kickback

I replaced my old 6 hp Johnson (which died in August last year) with a 2013 Nissan 9.8, extra long shaft, power trim etc... This forced me to also replace the outboard mounting bracket. I order one from West Marine made for 4 strokes and would hold up to 170lbs. As a side note I had to put a spacer between transom and bracket, but it's solid and tight.

Now, the issue is going forward is fine, however when placed in reverse the motor kicks back and the foot comes up (almost out of the water). It's not the bracket come up, it appears to be flex in the bracket arms/system. Any solutions or ideas on correcting this issue?

Re: Outboard kickback

huh.... It figures, I knew as I typed I was missing something simple. Thank you for not poking at me. I went out and looked and this is what I found....

The pic is sideways, unsure how to turn it.
