Re: Perkins 4.236 - Velvet drive (71C 2.11:1) questions

Using this old thread as I'm having similar question and issue with my Velvet Drive 71C on Perkins 4.236. Serck oil cooler started to leak and I'm wondering whether I should replace cooler or could I just bypass it? Somewhere I read that it should be possible but unsure how hot oil will become.

I'm not running engine really fast 1000 - 1200 RPM (6,5 - 7 kn on my 28 FT boat).

Oil cooler I decided to remove after reading https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ms-153271.html (started to leak exactly at the same time after more than 40 years)
