Perkins 4108 Coolant Loop

I am plumbing my Force 10 6 Gal Water Heater to my Perkins 4108. I have need to know if this location on my oil cooler is a good place for the fresh water return.

On the aft lower end of the cooler below the line from the heat exchanger there is a plugged port. I have circled its location in the photo. Can I use this port to return?

Apparently you have a heat exchanger with 2 chambers. The water uses the end fittings and do not connect to the ports.

Yes, that is a proper location for the return coolant from the house hot water heater.

Here is a foto which shows the coolant loop return into the elbow just ahead of the oil cooler inlet. Its the fitting below the black hose which connects the heat exchanger and the engine oil/ transmission oil cooler.
