fuel line intake

Or air intake

Nothing dramatic, unless some hoses got clotted

I like the filter change idea, a good start.

Re: Perkins dies at low RPM

I have seen the same behaviour in our engine too (VP).

Dies when shifting thru to neutral or from neutral into forward. One lever two wires system.

I noticed when I go gently on it (reducing the revs slowly before shifting), then it does not stop. It seems to hate rapid decceleration, so to say.

As someone said above, it refused to start hot then. It started OK once cold.

Bummer.

Re: Perkins dies at low RPM

Set the throttle four or five hundred above idle speed when starting. (My idle speed is 750 RPM but have start-up speed at about 1200). Once the engine "settles," reduce to idle speed before shifting into gear. I also prime the engine with fuel (thumb pump) before starting if hadn't been operating recently.
