Perkins Genset 103 raw water pump

Hi people,
I have a Perkins Genset 103-10EP...and the water pump">raw water pump on the 103 engine has a leak dripping from behind the unit.
I have an impeller and gaskets to replace but I notice there is a long screw than runs through the impeller to fix it to the shaft and no idea how to access this to get the impeller out.
As you can tell, haven't done this before so some help or thoughts would be appreciated. Pic attached.

No experience with this unit, however, you don't remove the screw to get the impeller out, it should just pull straight out with a large pair of needle nose plyers.

If your leek is in the back the problem is going to be the lip seal. Youtube is your friend hear, look for how to replace a lip seal on your make and modal motor.

Good luck,
Joe

Thanks Joe, good point about You tube.
Interesting thing is the impeller spare I have comes with a long set screw....and there is a hole in ....guessing the old one needs to come off to replace the seal.

Some impellers come with the screw installed some don't, yes the teardown is different for the different brands but you will have to get the old one out somehow and replace it.

The manufacture of your generator did not male the raw water pump, they bought it and installed it. You don't have to get parts from them. Lip seals are common and cheep.

Also with filters and belts. Unless you're still in warranty, don't buy OEM. You can get higher quality from NAPA at 1/4 the cost.
