Perkins Prima -Corrosion check item.

The Perkins Prima_50 engine in my boat has displayed a small sea water leak at the elbow where the sea water cooloing circuit from the heat exchanger enters the exhaust elbow. I now consider myself very lucky to have investigated this leak further and before my motor suffered a serious in-service failure.. I have now changed-out a very corroded fitting

I wish to alert other members with a Perkins Prima_50, Prima_60, or Prima_80 engine that they would be well advised to check the condition of this fitting on their engine as part of their routine maintenence program.

Reference photos of the very corroded elbow, its new replacement, and the Perkins OEM part number attached for your information.
