Perkins Prima M50 - new gauges

Hi All,

We have Perkins Prima M50 and some of the gauges need replacing (Taco and Temp - cooling temp I presume).

So as a result I am going to upgrade the engine management panel:

1. Replace the ignition barrell - currently has OFF/HEAT/START but the Taco and Temp are only alive when on HEAT or START. Thinking about going to OFF/ACCESSORY/HEAT/START? Need a Coll Hersee part number for this.

2. Engine doesnt seem to have Canbus and def predates N2k. I think the vintage of the engine is late 80's early 90's. What are the options for connecting new gauges to this engine?

The VDO Oceanlink need Canbus or N2k. Not sure about there other product lines yet.

3. I am also going to put the blower switches on the engine management console - having them on the DC panel is a pain. I want to use BEP Marine Contura switches, and will put a fuse in.

Any thoughts on this mod?

Anyone have the User or Service manual for this engine?
