Exactly what i have been using for 32 years. Simple and easy to replace if needed.

Take electric fuel lift pump one step further-install a diverted valve, switch and a Racor 500 filter & return fuel to tank and you not only have an easy way to prime your injector pump but also have a great fuel polisher! Works great and inexpensive!
Ps- make sure all hoses, other parts are US Coast Guard approved for insurance reasons.

Primer bulbs work fine. Put it between the tank and filters. I did have one go soft/spongy once. Not sure why that particular one did. Another option is an automotive electric fuel pump with a switch. I think NAPA has them for... $25?
