Re: propeller

See if this helps

Sail Calculator – Tom Dove

Edit;
That does jot show pitch.

Here is another calculator that does.

Re: propeller

I got mine from Lunenburg Foundry in Nova Scotia...

https://www.lunenburgfoundry.com

They're a pretty competent outfit. Email them, including the model of your boat, the engine, the gear ratio of the gearbox and the shaft size.

Re: propeller

Start with a propeller calculator for displacement hulls. Here is an example:

https://vicprop.com/displacement_size_new.php

Then ask a propeller shop that has experience with hulls like yours, as opposed to ski boats.

Then think through your goal: Your boat has a 22ft LWL and 30 HP out of (probably) an Atomic 4. That's a low RPM engine. Your hull speed (fastest you can go without climbing your bow wave) is 1.34 times the square root of your LWL in feet equals 6 1/4 knots. You want to reach that a bit below your red line with the engine developing full power. The engine should top out below its red line. If it spins past that point, you're not getting full power and have a too fine a pitch propeller. If it gives up in disgust before then, you are not getting full power and have too high (coarse) a pitch.

Sorry to say, but beyond that is art, not science, which is why you want an experienced shop making their best bet. Most will adjust pitch for you if they miss. They do that with a vise and a two by four....

Seems like Michigan Wheel would be a no-brainer:

Re: propeller

You can adjust the pitch in the water with this prop.

You can adjust the pitch of pretty much any feathering prop underwater. This is not a feature exclusive to EWOL props.

Re: propeller

I ended up buying a Featherstream propeller because it fit my boat.
I asked TWO divers if they would change the pitch with the provided
shim kit with fasteners, and both declined, even though the manufacturer
said it COULD be done in the water. I took the boat out of water.

There are divers and then there are Divers. Not everybody is cut out to handle all aspects of the job.
