Proper dry storage of marine diesel

Looking for information about proper storage of marine Diesel engine. (Yanmar 2gmf). This engine was extracted set in temp controlled dry storage on a pallet for approximately two years. What prep should the previous owner have performed for proper storage?

I know that there are special inhibiting oils that replace plain oil in this scenario.If no such oil was used, the minimum is to replace the oil just before storage and then sore the engine flushed with such a clean oil.



Also any wet cooling system parts should have been filled with rich, not plain, coolant mix (I used 50 / 50 glyco mix).



Exhaust is blocked too to limit access of moist air.


These are typical steps in short term (10 months) storage where we live.


I am sure there is much more one can do.
