Re: Pull to kill handle needs replacing

My engine placement lacks much space and would make it very difficult to physically access the stop lever in an "immediate need" situation. I looked into a cable type years ago. I found that my stop lever is nearly directly below and to stbd of my companionway .

I **could** run a rod (coat hanger wire!) about 18" directly to exterior, just aft of the cabin bulkhead and below my engine "dashboard"
Like most plans, this one failed to come to pass, as I could not determine the most effective and visually acceptable method of making it "safe" ...with it sticking up/out into an active area.

Since the OPs situ is primary use, whereas mine is secondary, perhaps a shielded/waterproof mounting of the handle/ring as close as possible ;but out of the way in a direct connection? I find applying the KISS principle to be best in most situations

Stand back, look at it sideways, sketch it out and think/plan ahead
