PVC pipe for diesel fill pipe

Has any one had experience using pvc pipe with diesel fuel, ie as a fill pipe?

It gets brittle. even with age. Why would you not use fuel filler hose?

Thanks Denise030, the height of the tank and offset of the thru deck filler hole make the hose into too thight 90s and leaves the center with a valley. I will probably go with metal tubbing.

Actually PVC is ok with diesel if you aren't worried about fire resistance. CPVC sched 80 pipe resists heat a bit better. It gets brittle when exposed to UV but in the dark lasts for a long time. Part of my exhaust after the water injection is CPVC & its 7 years old at least. Wouldnt hesitate to replace with same & I can fabricate an ss exhaust if I wished but PVC faster, easier & cheaper.
Not sure about insurance in USA tho.
