Question on Yanmar 3JH4E Water Pump

I have a Yanmar 3j44e engine and at time of purchase I ordered an extra salt water pump.

Recently I went to swap out the older pump on the engine for the new pump. I discovered that it is the incorrect pump. (There is a lesson learned here )

Existing pump is 129271-42500 (new number is -42502)

New pump is 129670-42512 (new number is -42513)

It appears the only difference between these two pumps is a 1" 90 threaded hose stub versus a straight 1" hose stub.

My questions....

1. Are these identical pumps except for the hose stub? the cover plate shows a different number. My parts manual for the engine show both these pumps hence the mistake when it was ordered

2. Does anyone know if the threaded hose stub is metric or imperial. I would rather not sell the pump but just change out the hose stub. I also do not want to possible scratch the hose barb in removing it if its not the same pump.

Thank you

Chuck
