Replace Yanmar Instrument Panel Type C

The Yanmar Instrument Panel Type C in our Beneteau 323 has simply worn out. The instruments are fine but the framework is crumbling. Anyone know where I can buy a new frame? Have found frame including instruments in quite a few places but I just want the frame alone. Yanmar no longer makes it. Thanks!

I have a Yanmar 3JH4E with the same Instrument Panel and the same issue. Had in mind to let someone 3D print a new frame and let a label company make a new (and a few spare) front panel sticker. Requires however some drawings to be made prior to that. Should not cost more than 200....400 USD.

Re: Replace Yanmar Instrument Panel Type C

I have the same issue, albeit with a Volvo panel, not that the brand matters here. The corners of the panel are cracked and broken, and probably letting in water.

Rather than buying more black plastic parts for what is no doubt a "nautical" sum, I was contemplating getting the Metal Shop Guy to cut a sheet of 316 in order to fit into the same space. It would undoubtedly look better, as well as probably being cheaper, as long as I do the measurements and drawing.

Any thoughts? Would I be making a mistake by using inox instead of new Volvo plastic?

Make your own. Either cut it out of a sheet of aluminum, or use thin plywood with a pretty veneer. Either way, at most you'll need to invest in is some hole saws.

Better then plywood or aluminum by a small sheet of G10 and use your old one as a template. I will be doing this in about a week so I'll let you know how it goes. That G10 stuff is incredible and incredibly strong.

Re: Replace Yanmar Instrument Panel Type C

Thanks everyone for the replies. They have helped tremendously. We are moving forward. We have ordered supplies to do this project ourselves. It will be a while because the board for the panel will come to us in the USVI via ocean freight. The panel “sticker” is coming from Complete Yacht Services in Ft. Lauderdale. Hopefully it will be something we are proud enough of to post a picture of the finished project.

Re: Replace Yanmar Instrument Panel Type C

Using the original for a template made a new one from black 6mm perspex, it took an afternoon; no labels, but if you've owned the boat for long enough for the original to die from UV, you'll no do doubt know what each light/dial's telling you

This is what I did for my yamnar diesel boat. Just knocked up a new panel out of aluminium, polished it up a bit, added the yanmar gauges and switches and threw in a few more switches and led lights.

You can see it in this pic -
