Replacement air filter

I want to replace the ridiculous air filter on my Volvo D2-40F with something that is preferably reusable. Has anyone done this, and if so what did they replace it with?

There are plenty of oiled foam air filters available, check an auto parts place or ebay. I did the same on our Yanmar as the parts prices are nearly as bad as volvo. You can just wash the foam in petrol or whatever & re-use.
Dont know the fitment for that engine sorry
