Replacement gearbox for Universal M30

Yes it is likely the drive plate. But it was not there before with the ZF. Or maybe not so loud. Same plate!

Thanks for all of your input. I contacted Justin at Transmission Marine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as suggested. They had 2 Turkish built replacements in stock for ~$1300. And it was shipped immediately and I received it the next day.
The external dimensions of the gearbox are identical, with the exception of the output flange which is 3/4" longer than the original. The offsets are the same so replacement should be a breeze. I only had to fabricate a new shift cable bracket from aluminum stock.
Justin said that they had sold about 25 of these units over the past 20 years and there has only been a problem with one self-installed unit which was traced back to an alignment problem.
Hopefully I'll be able to get it installed this Friday. I'll keep you up to date if there are any problems.
