seeking info on 3 cyl Yanmar

My friend is in Dominica. Salvaged a yanmar from a willing departee. Seems to be 3 cyl vertical. He has located a few numbers on the engine.
V7G or V7C. 23 0423. SN is E16978. I am trying to get a repair kit for same. All gaskets etc. Any help in identifying this unit greatly appreciated. No picture or model number yet. Coms are very difficult there as you know. My friends earns his living ferrying food to surrounding areas and his boat was sunk. The engine will keep things moving. Many thanks. Autie

We could get close width a picture or two. With an E prefix it may be a 3GM30 engine, but not sure.
There should be a green tag on the engine block...

OK, if it is a 3GM30, watch for cracks on the lower piston lands...

With Yanmar a serial number beginning with E indicates the engine manufactured in Europe even if final assembly was carried out in a different country.

With the E in the serial number, and being a 3 cylinder it
is going to be a 3gm30, or a 3ym30. Call Mark with Complete Yacht Service,
they are in Fort Lauderdale and can send parts to your friend. There # is
