Separ fuel filters...

I am now the curious owner of 2x Separ diesel filters. While I do appreciate the fine German design, the number of loose parts to effect a filter change is bordering on ridiculous.
I have a Racor SNAP system for my little outboard boat and while it doesn't allow a filter swap at all, it is super easy to change out the entire filter assembly at at reasonable cost. zero tools, zero loose parts. I suppose my point is that filters should not require one to deal with 4 x M3 bolts, and a custom gasket, and a suggested tightening sequence.

https://separfilter.com/2000-5/ Note the $400 price tag.

Re: Separ fuel filters...

The Germans tend to over engineer everything. Their WWII tank production was restricted by complicated designs that took much longer to build and repair. While most of their tanks were superior, their opponents greatly outnumbered them.
