Serious heat exchanger leak (Volvo Penta)

On my VP 2003T the a-syphon loop is just after the water pump">raw water pump.

Schematically, the anti-syphon loop is just after the raw water pump on mine too, it's just that the closest place to put it is under the galley.

I didnt read all the posts but it is probably time to replace the heat exchanger. I just did that this spring on my M25. I bought mine from

It is done. The heat exchanger has a new pipe and new fittings and is tight. I also removed the hot water tank and had the engine coolant lines for it removed... they were so chafed that they were about to burst, and I'm glad they're gone.

Removing the anti-siphon loop was a controversial decision. All the extra tubes, coupled with engine vibration, were the cause of the leak in the raw water fitting. I make it a practice to close the raw water intake when the engine is not in use (I hang the engine key from the handle so I can't start it until I retrieve the key and open the seacock).
