Serpentine pulley kit for Volvo Penta D2-40

I am looking for a serpentine kit (K8 or J10 pulleys) for the Volvo Penta D2-40.
Balmar offers the Volvo Penta D2-55 J10 kit but I am not sure it can fit on the D2-40 version.

Has anyone installed a serpentine pulley kit on a Volvo Penta D2-40?

Does the D2-55 have the same pulleys installed on the D2-40?

Contact Balmar and ask them. Different engine models may have different pulley dimensions and different bolt patterns, so unless they confirm the pulley kit will fit your engine, don’t assume that it will.

Also you can contact Mark Grasser of DC Power Solutions - he has designed and made most of the pulley kits sold by Balmar. We contacted him last year about belt kits for our engine, which wasn’t listed on the Balmar site. He agreed and we got them 9 months later, along with some really nice externally rectified alternators.

The bolt diameter, bolt hole pattern and the pulley pilot diameters are the same between the D2-55 and D2-40 standard pulleys, but that only means the accessory pulleys will bolt up to the original pulley.

Almost for sure the mounting bracket for the alternator will be different, and the fore and aft spacing of the accessory pulley is also going to differ.

Any resolution to this, my new Balmar belt is also slipping on my D2-40.
