Sliding engine mounts

It seems like I read somewhere about sliding engine mounts.

Anybody remember the thread?

I think the idea was to put the mounts OR the engine on some steel so the engine could be easily slid out of the compartment for repair in the future.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Sliding engine mounts

Don't know if I mentioned it in that other thread but this is what I built. Two barn door runner profiles, about a meter and a half long or so, positioned over the engine, firmly supported. Two crossbars with adjustable hooks to grab the two eyes on my 4JH3E then allowed the engine to be picked up and moved a good distance forward into the saloon. Allowed for easy disassembly and assembly of, on that maiden deployment, the saildrive.
