Switching from Inboard to Outboard (Prop before now aft prop)

Hello, I recently have repowered from inboard (A4) to outboard. The boat (Northern 29) has fin keel and wheel steering, which with inboard had rudder aft of prop. Now with outboard prop is aft of rudder. I have the outboard locked in straight-ahead position in order to steer with wheel/rudder. In forward gear I am comfortable with the steerage, however while in REVERSE, with prop behind rudder vs forward the handling response is much different. Any advice or thoughts while I learn how to adapt to this?

It’s just not going to be as good. That’s really all there is to it. There is not much that you can do short of creating an outboard well forward of the rudder depending on how deep that part of the bilge is. (Not likely doable)
