Temp light operation

I have 3 warning lights that are supposed to come on when the start sw was moved to ON...then go out after engine start....my temp light connects to a simple on/off sw at the head....when the sw grounds the light comes on...I confirmed this with a by pass...after replacing the VR wiring ...it seems the light does not come on with the start sw in ON...but does work if grounded....pretty sure I got all the wiring right as all 3 lights are on the same power circuit and the other two work fine....any ideas

Re: Temp light operation

Without a wiring diagram, it's impossible to diagnose without being there. You need to draw out the wiring and you may find it's missing a ground.
Sounds like a generator safety circuit where the oil, temp sensors are bypassed while starting. When the start button is released, the control is shifted to the safety circuit. Relays, etc., are in the circuit.
