Not saying its your problem but lubeing the rocker arm shaft is part of a potential problem. Many rocker arms get oil thru a little pipe sealed with an O ring in the head. Fail or plugged ,no oil and eventually arms don't rock good. British industrial fords and old Buicks come to mind as personal experiences.

Thanks... took the valve cover off yesterday and had a look...nothing suspicious found. Will monitor the situation closely...
