Transmission Question

Hi all:

I repowered a couple of years ago and everthing works great. I have a problem in that there was a leak in the coolant and ite got all over my motor mount and the transmission shift lever on a Yanmar 4JH4E with a KM 35P trans. I would like to remove the lever and get the rust off but in looking over my manuals I have no info on the trans just the engine. When I remover the nut that seems to hold the lever in place Oil began leaking out of the hole. I would like to remove the lever b/c it is in an awkward spot so that I can get the rust off of the lever and repaint it. Does anyone have a manual or know how to do this? I am trying a new product called evapo rust. I'll let you know how it works.

Hi Charlie.
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of the tranny?

Charlie,
Loosen the nut on the side of the lever. Then pull straight off.

Thanks Del Looks just like my engine but with access. I was going to try that bolt but it is a little tricky to get to I need a long extension. I have found the extension and will let everyone know how the evapo rust works.
