Volvo MD11D fuel pump

I have a persistent fuel leak from the base of my fuel pump which despite trying a few things ( replacing hoses, washers, tightening etc ) i can't seem to fix - i am told the fuel pump is obsolete ..... I think the next step has to be replace the pump .....
is there a fix for this ???

if by fuel pump, you mean the lift pump. It is available new from Volvo

You could have a small hole or tear in the pump's diaphram. That's what mine had when it developed a leak.

A rebuild kit solved the problem and took about an hour to install.

tell me more - the only thing we haven't done is crack it open to check the diaphragm because the Volvo guy has told us you can't replace it - how long ago did you manage to find a rebuild kit ???

These guys still have the service kit for the old type, unsealed pump.
They also got a newer type sealed replacement pump.
