Re: Volvo md7a to md17???

Hey Bellavida, Hope your project works out - sounds interesting. I wonder if you can direct me to that MD7a manual. I just picked up an old US30 that in running this engine but I've been struggling to secure a proper manual

Re: Volvo md7a to md17???

Hi Rob

I google searched "md7a manual" and the first link at the top of the page is a ballad pdf. It is the md7a manual in PDF form.
Cheers

If that doesn't work. The pdf name is "ballad.no" so I am assuming it is from that website. Might need to use Google translate and search that website.
Cheers

Re: Volvo md7a to md17???

To Rob452. I ordered and received a printed manual for md7a engines. I don't recall the source I used but on the cover of the manual the source is " AB Volvo Penta Customer Support Dept. 42200 SE-405 08 Gothenburg Sweden" Price was approximately $25.00. Being a dinosaur myself I much prefer printed manual myself. Manual is surprisingly short as these engines are very basic in their construction. If maintained well these engines require little work. Proper cooling is key to longevity with these engines. Raw water cooling for short periods of time at wrong temperature can cause problems over time. There is a lot of info available in other forums. Another job for the 3rd grader.
Parts are quite expensive new but I found good deals on used parts thru EBAY etc. Also good instructional videos thru UTUBE. If you know a 3rd grader to assist it can really make things easier in the computer dept. Ouch! I just bit my tongue! Good luck with your project. Steady as she goes, potbellypirate
