Volvo Pent 2003 Feets ( engine mounts )

Original VP part is : Rubber element : 840845

I decided to go with https://www.parts4engines.com/ but I'm stuck with the 3 options that I have : 50 Shore, 60 Shore or 70 Shore - which one to choose ?

Engine is VP2003 (non turbo) with MS2B gear box and shaft drive .

any suggestions which one to choose ?

According to the VP parts book, the 2003 w/ MS2B transmission...standard inboard package used:
Qty 2 of 840845 on the front of the engine....60 shore hardness
Qty 2 of 838262 on the rear of the engine.....50 shore hardness

On this engine the front mounts carry a larger percentage of the weight, hence harder mounts on the front and softer on the rear. Of note, on the v-drive version they used the 60 shore mount on both front and back because of the added weight of the V-drive and to counter the thrust lift tendency of the V-drive.

What will be the difference if I get the 70 Shore version ? more vibration on the hull, but less engine movement ?

Interesting, all three types seem to be available in the US.

If you use the harder mount it will pass on more vibrations to the hull, but with less engine movement.

I'm inclined to go with the 70 as currently if I push down the engine from the gearbox (no prop engaged) the vibration/knocking stops

The part is here about 5x cheaper then from Volvo
