Volvo Penta D2-75 crankshaft pulley nut

I'm trying to adjust the valves on my D2-75. I need to put a socket on the crankshaft pulley nut so I can turn the crankshaft. I can't get calipers inside the crankshaft pulley to measure the nut, tried a 34mm socket (too small). Does anybody know the correct size socket?

Re: Volvo Penta D2-75 crankshaft pulley nut

I tried to find this for you, but failed. I know where you can buy one for $35, but when I got to the part description it just said "nut." Have you got access to a socket set that large such that you can do trial and error?

Alternatively, this page from McMaster-Carr gives available sizes of metric nuts. VP didn't manufacture that $35 (!) nut - they took it off the shelf, so you may be able to eliminate most sizes and make a best bet.
