W63C origin

Would anyone know the origin of the Westerbeke W63c or d engine.

The parts prices from Westerbeke are unreasonable and I am wondering if I can find the information on the actual bare engine manufacturer.

Thanks

Re: W63C origin

Believe that would be a Perkins 4.135, which is a Mazda S2, which I also believe was used in the B2200 Mazda and Ford Ranger pickups.
