Water Strainer

Any idea who made this? I want to replace the basket. 1 1/2" fittings. I believe the ID on the side is AC or AG.

Wouldn't it just be easier to replace the whole strainer assembly with a new one rather than try to find ancient or obsolete parts? The new ones can even be had in non-metallic versions which avoid the whole problem of corrosion.
