weird stuffing box screw????

Hey Salt's,
I was going to try and tighten my stuffing box, when I got to inspecting it I see it has one large (maybe a 2 inch ) nut and another one strange looking nut that has I believe no sides on it, but has holes around the perimiter? Basically it looks round with maybe five 2/16ths holes around it's perimiter. The strange looking nut seems to screw into the larger nut where I think the stuffing packing is...............I was wondering if any of you have seen or know what the nut with the holes around the perimiter is. Maybe I need a special tool??? I have a Sabb 2H Fully feathered prop. I have looked in all my manuals etc.....and can't find anything on it. One more question, my stuffing box is dripping about 4 drops a minute. Is that too much?????? Thanks, Dingoman

something like this?
Oilwell 560PT Complete Used Stuffing Box. - eBay (item 120413264887 end time Mar-19-11 16:28:47 PDT)

I know it's not for a boat shaft packing, but they're identical pieces of equipment.
