Westerbeke 12B Leaking water

When I started my boat this spring, something sounded off, so I took a look and my Westerbeke 12B is expelling water in between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust elbow (where the water is introduced to the system. I'm guessing that it's a bad seal on the exhaust elbow? Do I need to replace the just the seal or the entire exhaust elbow? Is this a common problem?

Can't tell without at least removing the elbow. But that said, exhaust elbows do generally have limited lifetimes, although there are some that do last longer than others. I don't have any recommendations for source, but there are many exhaust elbow threads here that do.

In addition, if the leak did a job on the engine compartment, it'll be a good idea to thoroughly clean and rinse everything to get rid of the salt (assuming you are in salt water) to minimize corrosion and future problems.
