Westerbeke 4107 Bad Starter or Solenoid?

The rest of the story....the problem was finally traced down to a corroded battery terminal. It had been cleaned and tightened onto a new battery so it was not suspect. The corrosion could not be seen as it was inside between the cable and the terminal.
Not all for naught, however.
I learned a great deal from the people posting and now have a Westerbeke parts supplier contact with reasonable prices to boot.
