Re: Westerbeke Raw Water Pump - WB-038445

The pump on my Westerbeke W21A is a Johnson pump but it uses studs coming from the engine so you only have to fit the nuts and washers. My engine is actually a Mitsubishi K3D tractor engine so the studs are metric.

My 1983 Westerbeke uses a Sherwood. I have two fortunately as there are no current replacements. They are totally rebuildable and parts are available as they also are for the coolant pumps. Rebuild is about $60 to $100 typically.

Re: Westerbeke Raw Water Pump - WB-038445

There are currently many available Sherwood R10870G pumps. I found them easily at a variety prices ($699 to $991). But still cheaper than buying the SAME pump from Westerbeke for $1265. But you may need to have the mounting foot milled (to match the Westerbeke bracket in my case). That the only difference when ordered from Westerbeke; a slightly modified mounting foot. And there are also rebuild kits available. The real Sherwood kits are fine. I’d recommend avoiding the cheap Chinese kits. The parts were definitely lower quality.

Side note, Re: Water Pump Pulleys.
I took over a boat w a Westerbeke/Mitsu 10K generator last year.
It ate belts at an alarming rate until we resurfaced the three pulleys.
Rust from disuse will abrade the belts, so clean/polish them thoroughly if they've been out of service for more than a few weeks.
