Re: What is the best Color for an Engine?

Basic black motor mounts will continue to go well with everything this season, but no white after Labor Day. It's best to match the belts with the mounts, but feel free to "go wild" with the colors for accessories. We're expecting to see more flashy starters and alternators this year!

Basic black may be fine for conservative engine mounts, but some of us need a little more pop / bling then, well black....

You know I did not see purple at all in the poll listing for best color, nor multi-color. Though, having the right color coordinated accessories for the "properly" outfitted diesel, is important, to many a female sailor at least. I think ZeeHag will be writing a book on how to properly color accessorize the marine diesel.

I'm still looking for rhinestone studded fan belts...

I use a common enough colour called " going well" , in that " I like my engine going well"

Yes, but how about all those boaters using NO IDEA BLACK.
Sometimes they tint the color with NO CLUE, but it’s still looks black.
You can tell these boats by the black plume of smoke bellowing out the exhaust as they chug along.

Even when their engines are not running they have a big black ring around the exhaust.

Chartreuse or magenta? Difficult choice. Noisy smelly things anyway, deserve to be neglected so why paint 'em?.

I'd vote white, but not spray can white, use a good paint, something like Imron

So it seems. Go Noles!

I went with the traditional Yanmar grey though I didn't know what to use at first because my engine was red with rust, so had asked the guys in San Diego Marine Exchange and they said, "Yanmar grey, of course." I had no idea there was actually such a rainbow of possibilities!
