Where to Find Perkins 4.154 Parts

I need to replace the crankshaft of my Perkins 3.154. We know where there's a crankshaft but the seals etc. are proving difficult to find. Apparently Perkins has none worldwide and so far none of the old dealers have come up positive either.

Does anyone have a source they would recommend checking?

Are you sure its a 3.154 and not a 4.154? I have gotten parts for my 4.154 from Trans Atlantic Deisels in Virginina. ALso gotten quotes on parts from JT service Tim Kohler [tim@jtservicesinc.com]

Excellent, I've sent these over to the mechanic. With all the 3.154 out there I'm a little surprised that Perkins themselves no longer stocks the parts.

It's a little more rare than the 4-108 and 4-236 for sure. Is your engine apart now? Crankshafts can be rebuilt, they flame spray the journals and regrind them.

My crankshaft is splined and both it and the pulley were really chewed up but we found a crankshaft at a very good price near here. Problem has been the rebuild kit. So far they haven't found one. I sent these suggestions off the mechanic has been contacting Perkins dealers to see if they have stock on the shelves.

Try farm equipment dealers. More Perkins are used in farm equipment than in boats. My backhoe has a 4-236 in it. Farm dealers are probably lower cost than marine dealers.____Good Luck____Grant.

Thanks Grant. Turns out one of the most common usages was bobcats and they still are making rebuild kits so we found one of those successfully. Everytime something comes up though it's been a scramble.

I have a lot of Perkins 4.154 parts, just re-powered with a new motor. The crank is fresh out of the machine shop, .010 undersize grind, crack checked, balanced, etc. I also have: head, fuel pump, injectors, good block, pistons, rods, etc. I will start listing on ebay next week.

Yes in answer to PM, happy to ship the Perkins parts to most places- US and Europe. (just not to Nigeria). Mine are 1985 model 4.154 200 series parts, many are the same as the older 4.154. I do have a very nice condition cylinder head, inspected for cracks, all good. My injection pump is excellent.
