Yanmar 3GM30 - Identifying Year of Manufacture

Hi everybody.

How can I tell the year of a Yanmar 3GM30F???
I know that they were made from 1983 to 2005, so I don't know if there have been significant changes over the years.....
Are there any years that are recommended more than the others???
Any years I should stay away from????

Get the model# and serial# and call your official yanmar dealer. He can search "Yanmar" and get back to you with month and year of production. Don't bother calling Mack Boring, I have visited them once and called a couple of times for assistance, there is no intelligent life there. It is the most "I can't help you" "I don't know", clueless Yanmar rep out there! I had great response from Laborde Products, LA. 985-892-0107. DAN

Gordmay, I got a Yanmar 3JH4E and I need the shop manual. There was a thread with a link were it could have been dowloaded for free, but no longer works...
Do you know how else can I found it????

Gord, Thanks for the link, I already have the service manual, but the work shop manual is the one that is giving me a hard time finding it.......

FWY, I just posted the link for a Kanzaki torque limiter, wich is a special coupling that came a few years ago on some KM tranmissions.
