Yanmar 3hm35f kbw10 transmission

Well it's finally happened. After 34 years of cruising and 10,000 hours on the engine the transmission is slipping. We're here in the Atlantic coast of france and hesitant to move far. Its a kbw10 model ER tranny. We've found a kbw10 model BP, does anyone know the difference between models?
