Yanmar 3hm35f transmission leak

My yanmar 3hm35f has the Kanzai kbw 10 transmission. It has developed what appears to be a rear seal leak. I have been carefully monitoring the leak and it is leaking about a tablespoon and a half a day. I would like to finish the season before replacing the seal. In fact i am planning a week cruise soon. If I monitor the leak and ensure the transmission has the requisite amount of oil (ATF), is it safe to continue with the season?

It is not slinging the oil but dropping it in the sump underneath the transmission where the output shaft coupling attaches to the tranny.

Thanks

Re: Yanmar 3hm35f transmission leak

You should be fine, as long as you just keep an eye on that level,

Leaking like that will do no harm to any thing in the gear box as long as the level is in the operational range- just a caution dont be tempted to over fill to allow for the leak as over filling can do more harm than low levels in many cases,

Cheers Steve

As long as you keep the fluid level up, you should be ok.
Place an oil absorbent mat under the tranny, to collect the drip.
