Yanmar 3jh3ce oil leak pan 129270-01720

My engine is in a 2000 Dehler 39. I am leaking oil but can't find a hole by touching the bottom. The dip stick shows no oil but oil is still leaking so not sure about level. Any ideas? Are used pans available as salvage?

I think you need to find where the hole is first. The dipstick can show no oil even if there is a lot in there as it doesn't go to bottom of sump. The oil pan maybe repairable, most likely is. It may just be coming from bolt or gasket though this is just general advice as i dont know that engine. Again find leak first.

Welcome to the forum. I doubt you have a hole unless for some reason the pan had corroded through. It could be the fasteners on the pan are loose. Regardless, don't run it.

Pull the pan and repair it if it is leaking, it's a simple weld repair if it's holes. Usually it's the pan gasket or crank shaft seals that cause the leaks.

Leaking oil pan is kind of rare. Can you look under the engine with a mirror and light to see if there is a crack? Was the oil pan sitting in bilge water for any length of time. In any case it will need to be replaced. The part is probably not all that much, maybe a few hundred dollars. Did you have a lot of oil in the bilge under the pan?
