Yanmar 3ym30 No Coolant Temp or Oil Pressure Displayed

Hello,

I noticed yesterday that the remote panel at the helm displays --- for both oil pressure and coolant temp.

Any ideas where to start? Do you know where those sensors are located?

Thanks!

Feels like a bad connection if both gauges aren't displaying. I'd start by checking continuity back to sensor vs suspecting sensor is bad. But unfamiliar with your display if it's digital or analog.

Thanks, it's digital. I read somewhere that the 3ym30 doesn't come stock with sensors, only alarms? Anyone know if this is correct?

I'll have to keep digging here.

I just installed a 3YM20 with the same digital panel and it only has alarms and idiot lights.

Six years ago, my engine came with alarms only, after they promised it came with gages. I’ve been bugging the dealer ever since about finding a conversion kit. Now they say my engine serial number makes the cut, and with new parts, I can get gages. We will see.

Correct 2010, today I do not know. 2010 B-panels made by Siemens are scrap! Bought digital adapter to display on mfd, amplifies alarm too

Check the wiring. The wires are notoriously undersized, and after time, corrosion does it's job.

I just bought a brand new aftermarket panel for our Yanmar. The price is great, and the support is just plain outstanding. www.acdcmarineinc.com

Re: Yanmar 3ym30 No Coolant Temp or Oil Pressure Displayed

I recently installed a 3ym30ae. My set-up came stock with the B panel and stock wire harness. The B panel does have capability to display water temp and oil press values, although it requires a new wire harness and related fittings/sending units to enable the data. I suspect running individual wires from guage to sendor is an alternative to replacing the entire harness, though.
