Yanmar BTD 33

I live in Australia and have a wooden boat which was built in Australia in 2009 (I have owned it for 2 years and love it). The engine is a Yanmar BTD 33 which I assume was second hand when installed in the newly built boat. The BTD was built in Brazil and never sold in Australia. Runs beautifully! I have serviced it myself and managed to get oil filters and primary fuel filters etc new locally. The starter failed and I was able to find a new one that fitted and no problems. I am struggling to get other parts such as the secondary fuel filter, hoses etc. I am concerned that when I need other parts I will have problems. I can see all the parts that I may ever need, available on Brazilian websites but navigating how to order or ask questions is almost impossible for me.

Does anyone have experience with the BTD 33? Any suggestions? Should I learn Portuguese? Thanks

Formosa, I live in Brazil. I don't know your engine, but if I can help you with ordering parts, let me know. You should have no trouble buying parts online and paying with a credit card in Brazil.

Perhaps this service manual in Portuguese will help you to identify parts (using part names in Portuguese).

Re: Yanmar BTD 33

Thanks so much. I can get the part numbers and if you can help me navigate the website of a dealer that would be great. I will work out what I need and touch base in a few days. Thanks again
