Yanmar Gear Case Cover Removal

We need to remove our fuel injection pump for a rebuild on our Yanmar 3JH2. As would be the case, many things need to be taken off first in order to get the pump out. Currently working on getting the gear case cover off the front of the engine so that we have access to the gears behind. Any hints on removal of this cover?

You don't need to remove the cover in order to get the pump out. In order to remove the cover, you'll also need to remove the oil pan. At least it is was the case in my 3jh4e a couple of weeks ago.
As a fact, we had remove the pump first so we can remove the cover. Be very careful by locating all the bolts in the pump, spe ially one located on the lower part of the pump, and next to the engine block. Hope this helps! MS
