Yanmar Replacement Filters

What is a good source for Yanmar replacement filters and parts?

Original yanmar parts are 2 to 4 times the cost of other brands.
For example, I burnt my starter and could not get a Yanmar starter for several days until I found the Hitachi label at the Yanmar starter, went to a Napa store and picked it up at 1/3 of the Yanmar cost.

Re: yanmar replacement filters

Thank you, only the last one shows a Yanmar fuel filter for my 4JH4-TE, but none show a cross reference to another brand or offer supply. I am sure, Yanmar uses parts from somewhere.
Any more hints where to get Yanmar fuel filters?

Re: Yanmar Replacement Filters

In the past I have had to look at the thread size, the cannister length and diameter to match up the correct fit. I have a 4JH4E and have had no problem finding Wix or Napa filters.

Re: Yanmar Replacement Filters

I am not anywhere close to the $3000 month cruising budget category but the cost of a Yanmar oil or fuel filter is not worth the time to find a cross, IMHO.

An oil filter for my 4JH-DTE is $6.50. Fuel filters were about the same last year.

Re: Yanmar Replacement Filters

This is a recurring question on this and other boating forums.

The word you're looking for is "equivalent", so do a Google search on "Yanmar engine filter equivalent" and you should find what you're looking for.

Good luck.
