Yanmar SD40/SD50 One Touch Bands - How to fix

I will shortly be going to my boat and have two replacement "one touch bands" which hold in place the secondary diaphragm of my SD40. I will be re-assembling the sail drive but need to make sure I get it right first time when I am on site. The exact part I am referring to can be found here: https://dieselpartseurope.com/196420...36-yanmar.html.

Question is, does anyone have experience with fixing these restraining bands? And if so, is it simply a matter of bending the band once in place and then fixing with the clip? Are they then automatically tight enough?

Thanks in advance for any advice on this!
