1964 Owens

How often should the bottom be repainted ? The other question is , I know the year and maker (Owens) but how do I find out what model it is ? It's a 29ft , single engine (gas) , ply not plank , all original. Just to mention , I'm berthed at Oxbox marina in isleton CA.

Re: 1964 Owens

Is your boat a motor launch or a yacht? Can you give us a bit more detail? What is the make of the motor?

Are you sure it is a 1964 Owens because according to this article they were building f/g in 1964?

This movie appears to be the story of the Owens Brothers. Maybe you can spot your boat?

Re: 1964 Owens

You’ll need to repaint your bottom anywhere from annually to 5years more or less, depending on paint quality and local fouling coupled with the type of maintenance you perform (bottom cleanings).

As far as the model? Have you googled 1964 Owens motor yacht?

There’s a ton of images, but I’d bet you’ve got a 28’ cabin cruiser......
