Re: 3d printing applied to cruisers

I just posted some photos of 3D printed projects, including a new adapter for our stern tube lubrication system, new covers for the chain locker drain, brackets for our inverter, all PETG.

I do my design work with Sketch up 2017 and for my printer software I use Simplify3D

Re: 3d printing applied to cruisers

It did not post as I wanted it to. Someone mentioned that 3D information on a website was in French. I posted the link as a possible solution.

Re: 3d printing applied to cruisers

I am a voice actor. I narrate scripts in Italian and German, as well as English. And sometimes my command of the languages is not what it should be. It's cut and paste for the text you want to be translated. Glad I could help

better is deepL.com
till 5000 characters it's free, if text is longer I split it accordingly.
if you regularly need more get the pro version, worth the subscription and much better then Google.
Google is English based means does not matter which language it is first translated to English and then to the language you requested doubling up the translation mistakes and incorrect grammar. DeepL translate directly in your requested language taking care of the appropriate grammar. my buddy is using that commercially for offers, business communications and contracts.

What is the cheapest 3D printer capable to do Aluminium like printing? means metal parts or reenforced plastics that has the same strength as aluminum?

Back to printing?

How does one manage a longer print time? And what are we seeing with power consumption.

I have a smaller 3D printer but don’t care to bring it aboard if it can only ever be used when I’m at a dock.

Re: 3d printing applied to cruisers

I took my Ultimaker2Go on board this summer. It got used more than I anticipated. It ran perfectly well off the inverter but I did not notice the current. The supply is 24v 5amp max I did print while sailing but mostly printed when at anchor.
Even Mrs G admitted that it was a useful thing to have on board.

I have written this up in the December Cruising Association magazine

Can we have a 3D dedign/printing forum?
